At Columbus, Ohio’s Mershon Auditorium fans gathered to see the vibrant Becky G deliver a beautiful representation of unity through song.

The experience started outside with food trucks and music for those in line waiting to get into the Mershon Auditorium on The Ohio State University campus. Next, a fun set from Freddy Quintana, also known as Awsumo. He is Becky G’s cousin and DJ who is an essential part of her live shows. They’ve been performing together since she was young, so he knew what needed to happen to get people excited for the evening. He moved  people to line-dance in the aisles at this seated venue to mixes of contemporary and authentic classics of both US and Mexican hits. We’re talking Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” to “Tragos Amargos” by Ramon Ayala Y Sus Bravos Del Norte. It was a birthday show for him in Columbus, and he brought the beats for the party. He wasn’t the only one to make connections through culture and heritage on stage.

Becky G’s silhouette appeared on stage with her back up dancers through the shadows of the stage set up like a contemporary, western city block. Her energy was joyous and her three-piece black mesh outfit sparkled under the red stage lights.
