On Monday morning, I found out about a show I wanted to photograph. I wasn't shooting for anybody, and it was in 2 days. The following email was sent:
Hi Tom,
I know it's short notice to be asking about a media pass for the Reverend's Columbus show at the Newport Music Hall this Wednesday February 3rd, but I'm asking anyway.
I'm a local photographer that's trying to cut my teeth in concert photography. You can see my work at http://harryacosta.com/photography/. I can offer full rights to the Reverend Horton Heat for all the photographs I take, I just really dig the Reverend and need the experience.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
Harry Acosta

I know that I'm not this man's priority. I'm a stranger, but Tom pulled through for me. And I got to see a great, hi-energy, and fun show. Each of the four times I've seen the Reverend perform, he had some fantastic openers. The Red Elvises started the night off with a great variety of humorous song writing, and great stage presence. Nashville Pussy just completely rocked. I haven't been a fan, but had to revisit their music after seeing their live performance. The Reverend was as entertaining as ever, and Jimbo put on a show just for my camera while I was in the pit. Unknown Hinson split the Reverend's time up as they backed him up. His music was great, and his persona a little creepy, but I later came to find out, it was all an act.
This, I believe was the best show I have photographed (so far). I know what to expect with this new camera now, and the stage was well lit (maybe even a little too much, but I was able to adjust quickly).
